- Hmmm...thanks so much for sharing, B, (I think) but, perhaps you could have saved your dark humor for another article, considering the fact that an 8 year old girl was stabbed to death here. Humor, even the dark kind, has its time and place. This wasn't it.

- Being a 911 dispatcher isn't business as usual customer service. The vast majority of people who call 911 are in an emergency situation. As such, dispatchers need to not only have the ability to do their jobs, but, to carry them out with compassion and empathy.

- I hear you, Son_OF_Liberty. I was in the same situation at one point in my life. As I single parent, I was making fairly decent money, but, then I was downsized and was out of work for several months.

- Maybe so, but, the vast majority of Church's chicken places in my area are in the ghetto. Their chicken is pretty good, but, I'm not about to drive to the ghetto to get it. They'd do much better if they put their franchises in areas where you don't risk getting shot or mugged to patronize them.

- I adopted my daughter as a single parent (gave up on finding my "Mr. Right" and just decided to forge into my desire to be a parent on my own) in 1991. In the California county I adopted my daughter through, there were just under 1,000 children available for adoption.

- Gotta love him. The more I read about Pope Francis, the more endearing he becomes. God bless him. Not an easy position to be in, especially since it will apparently be difficult for him to get used to the "Vatican bling".
